Welcome To Entertainment!

Maggie and I were up at the crack of dawn for our general entertainment training. On the bus at 7:30am, training from 8:30-5:30, and then we got to sit and wait for the bus for 35 mins. Needless to say it was a long day. But, we learned so so so much about the entertainment role that we have and found out that our official legit training starts on Monday!!! We got to go to Magic Kingdom and get some tours off set and then watch the show on the castle stage! Exhausted. Good night!

1st Training and Day Off

Yesterday we had our first training day called Traditions. It was a long day, and being in uncomfortable shoes and business clothes didn't necessarily help, but it was awesome. We learned a ton, met new people, and even got to go on a short tour through Magic Kingdom! Getting to see the backstage/cast members only places in the parks is one of the things I was most excited about, so of course I was freaking out! The best part was getting our NAME TAGS and PARK ID'S which get us into the parks for free and give us discounts at tons of restaurants and stores!

Today my roommate, Maggie, and I had the day off. We slept in and decided to go to Hollywood Studios with Alaina around lunchtime. We got there and it was a beautiful day. We went on Rockin Roller coaster, Tower of Terror, Star Tours & The Toy Story ride with no more than a 20 min wait on any of them. We were planning on going to Magic Kingdom after that last ride and as we're leaving the building a torrential downpour including thunder and lightening began. We waited under an awning for a little hoping it would clear up...totally didn't at all. So we said whatever and walked through the entire park getting completely soaked. We got some dinner and decided to call it a night because we were just over it. What a great first day in the park! But, plenty more fun and dry days to come so we're not complaining : )
Best coaster!

Beautiful day, horrifying ride

San Francisco backdrop!

So. Much. Rain.

Sad and wet and cold

I'm heerrrreeeee!

A short novel of my first 3 days:
3 interviews, an audition, 6 months of waiting and waiting some more, countless emails, 5 suitcases and 2 flights later...I am finally in Orlando! Words cannot describe how happy I am to be here and how much I am looking forward to this incredible experience! Our flight was late from Houston to Orlando on Saturday night so by the time we landed my mom and I were starving, so we went to ihop obviously. Pancakes and a chocolate shake. Nom. The next day, Sunday, my mom and I slept until 11:30 clearly unadjusted to the 3 hour time change. We experienced The Waffle House for the first time, went to Target, got our nails done, and then "accidentally" pulled into a parking spot at the Outlet Mall that happens to be literally down the street from my apartment. For dinner we went to The House Of Blues in Downtown Disney and then went to visit my friend from home, Alaina Perchak, who is working at the Disney Days of Christmas Store. The 3 of us devoured some ice cream from Ghirardelli and then went home for the night because I needed some sleep before check in the next day. That night I could barely sleep because I was so anxious, so instead of waking up at 6am to get in line at 6:45, I made my mom get up at 5:40 and we were in line at 6. Around 7, two of the girls I was going to live with got there, and we later got basically a break-up text from the other 2 girls we were supposed to be with so that was super awkward haha. So Maggie (my roommate), Becka, and I went through all the lines, where we started talking to a girl, Polly, who became Becka's roommate! We got our room assignment, Patterson Court, and found out that we would be rooming with 2 more girls to make our suite a 6 man. A few hours later we got on a bus and went to casting where we would turn in more paperwork, sign our lives away to Disney and hopefully get our work assignments...NO. Character performers don't find out anything for like another week...yay more waiting! At this point it's around 2:30pm and we are all completely exhausted. We started moving everything into our room and met our final suite mates, Martina and Bitzy! My mom and I went back to the hotel and took a nap, then met the girls at Walmart where we spent 2 1/2 glorious hours getting everything. Slept like a baby last night, went to a housing meeting earlier today, mom left : (  and now I have the rest of the to finish moving in! Besides the humidity and the awful/constant frizz my hair is experiencing, I am already having a blast and cannot wait to finally go to the parks! Miss my dad, brod & dash, my dog, my friends, and everyone at ASU so so much!!!
